Waking up hungry?

Our 1yr old wakes up 2-3 times a night and seems hungry.
She will take 3-4 oz. formula and fall back asleep for about 4hrs. We can hear her stomach growling when she wakes. Of course she has a good dinner and all, is this common? Any suggestions?
