Oh, I forgot to mention.....sometimes if I think she might go back to sleep, I will give her a favorite toy (a low-key toy...one that is not too exciting...a book or a stuffed animal works well) and let her play with it quietly while she lays down. She sometimes will go back to sleep after a few minutes of quiet play. I don't talk to her or stimulate her in other ways (ie. pick her up), except maybe to sing a soft lullabye occasionally. I keep the room dark, with only just enough light for me to see what I am doing.
