Posted by tired in nm on November 06, 2001 at 08:38:56:My 6 mo. old is breastfed and is also on solids. My dilema is that he wakes up several times to nurse. At 4mo he was going to bed appx. 8:30 and got up appx. 2am and then 5-6am to eat which was fine. Now he gets up at 12, 2, 4, 6. and I don't think that it is a growth spurt because it has lasted more than a few weeks. I don't mind sleeping with him, but because he is such a noisy sleeper and my husband is a light sleeper, my husband doesn't get any sleep if I bring him into our bed. I have been sleeping with him in the spare bed in his room just so I can get some sleep since he is waking so often. He eats quite a bit when he wakes to eat, so I am assumming that he is hungry. Also, he is not real interested in the pacifier either. My husband is concerned that I starting a bad habit by sleeping with him. Any suggestions? The pediatrician says that night feedings should be phased out at this age, how am I suppossed to do that? Do I just get up and rock him back to sleep every few ours and listen to him scream because he wants to eat? Help!
