I also agree that there is much good advice in the Babywise book(s). It is very upsetting that people have so maligned the methods described in the book and even fabricated statements about the book that are simply not true! The book does NOT ever tell you to not feed your baby if hungry or to not comfort them if they cry. People have gone way overboard in claiming the book wants you to put your baby on a rigid schedule when the book itself disagrees with this approach! The book has only ever advised a "routine" which the author acknowledges can and should be "flexible" as needed for your baby and your situation. It is amazing to me how falsehoods travel about and become fact to people that have never read the book for themselves. Oh well, I guess that's just the way the world is.

But I think, as has been already suggested, that any good parent will read MANY resources, get to know their own baby, and then choose from all available input what seems a) right for them and their child and b) what works! Sometimes you need to try different methods for your child before you find what works for you and them. Remember that each child-parent relationship is unique (even if you have other children) because you and your child are each unique. You must be willing to adapt and be flexible (as advised in Babywise!) to each child that you have been blessed with.

If this reply even gets one person who was against Babywise to at least read the book for themselves and then form their own opinion, it will be worth it!

Happy Parenting!
