Well, I suspect that she has an iron deficiency, along with many other things, She was born with an overactive immune system and is allergic to most of the main food groups....i.e, milk and all dairy products containing lactose, gluten, (wheat products), lecithin, (eggs), fruits such as bannanas and so on and so on.

At 6 weeks old, she contracted a rotavirus, which damaged her digestive system and she was unable to digest food at all fr a while and as time passed it did improve but of the things she is not allergic to, they will cause her severe digestive problems, like rich fruit, vegetables and anything high in sugar.

Up untill about 6 months ago, she had only homecooked food, and that consisted of selected veg, white meat and fish and some fruits, occasional extras like bread, cereal, chocolate, but nothing else, and whilst she was extremely healthy, she has never slept a great deal.

She was ill again in Dec (just passed) with Rotavirus again and so the problem kicked off again, unfortunately, she did not resume eating and tho it defies belief on average she will eat 2 bites of an apple OR one quarter of a slice of toast for breafast, a slice of ham and 2 or 3 small squares of cheese, OR quarter of a bowl of soup/pasta etc, usually no tea and thats it! She is still offered the homecooked food but simply has no appetite. I strongly feel that her now poor diet is contributing to her sleep problem.

She is under a paed dietician and is regularly weighed and measured etc. Although being tiny she looks in general quite average in health terms, she has many symptoms of iron deficiency, those being, brittle, pale nails, light pallor (pale skin) bluish tinge t the whites of the eyes, lack of appetite, behaviour disruptions (inability to sleep)

She is certainly not an overactive litle girl and she is very well behaved, outside of sleep terms, she has just required a great deal of emotional and physical attention, which I was unprepared for because the causes are not very obvious to anyone. however I would be interested to hear more about ADHD if you have any helpful info.

Thanks for replying
