You are not alone. My 9 month old has always 'cat napped' and always with a wild loud fight (sometimes a few episodes) before actually going to sleep. She started with 10 minutes (exactly), then 20, now 30 (still exactly). I have found no solution, but reading about others helps so much.
One piece of advice that helps alleviate the 'sleep fights' is ; when she acts tired & grumpy I quiet her & calm her with baby video or books & enjoy ''quiet time'' sometimes this leads to her popping up to play some more, but refreshed and happy... sometimes it leads to her snuggling and falling asleep (more so on the popping up side, but still at least no fighting. Quiet time is still better that crying time to me.
I like to find a bright note; maybe ours are just sensitive geniuses who will grow up to be rich & spoil us later in life for our suffering now !
