Anna,
I make decisions based upon the content and amount of advice given concerning "Crying It Out" regardless of how it is suggested. Babies under 6 month's of age and their sleep habits are a very touchy subject which is why we try to avoid giving advice on this forum. If you look at the infant forum home page you will see a special note concerning "Crying it Out". In the past, we have shut the forum down because of this subject, why? because it became a battle ground instead of a place to exchange experiences. Telling parents how to handle sleep problems with infants as fact, or giving them a choice, is not up to this forum, suggesting books & etc. is certainly allowed, but we are not medically trained & therefore always suggest that a pediatrician be consulted.
Sorry, once a decision is made to remove a string all posts are removed despite the content . Hope this explains the way it works.
I wish everyone a happy and wonderful experience with their little bundle of joy & hope you will understand.
Have a wonderful day,
Sandmama
