Just a comment : try not to wait until he yawns. According to my own experience, a baby that yawns is really really tired. Look for more subtile signs, like becoming passive, still, etc.., and put him promptly back to bed. Try also not to make the ritual of going back to bed too long (especially during the day).
Also, you don't want to wait too long after the feeding, so that his stomach doesn't get too empty, therefore might make him wake up too early.

At that age, 2 hours of wakefulness is the maximum that a baby can endure.

Proceeding that way might help lenghten the duration of naps. Otherwise, there is nothing else that can be done.. Once he is awake, he is awake, and although very short, a 45mn nap is still a nap.
