Thank you for the advice. I have read the Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child and stick to making sure he is not awake more than 2 hours. I will try to put him down before the yawn. I had never really thought about that...it is just when he yawns he is easy to get down. Today...he has not cried once when going to bed, but still sleeps only the 45 minutes. After his last nap I did let him cry for 10 minutes...he was screaming. I finally got him up and then put him in his swing...he slept for 1.5 more hours. I just don't get it!

What do you mean...Try also not to make the ritual of going back to bed too long (especially during the day). Do you mean me checking on him or him in bed?

It just breaks my heart to see him so tired. I wouldn't mind the 45 minute naps if he would wake up content...it is just that he wakes up obviously tired.
