My daughter is now 6 months and we have struggled with her sleeping from day one in the hospital when most infants should be sleeping. I too went through the 30 min. naps and then this got better and now it is back with a vengence. I found that nursing her then putting her down helped her to sleep for longer increments but I ended up feeding her at wake up time, then at 9:00 nap and so on and she was eating all day and this doesnt seem good for her. We followed the eat, play, sleep cycle for 5 months, very consistant. I took a break to try something new and the naps got better via the nursing (relaxing I suppose, she wasnt hungry) but the night sleep got worse. Now she can't put herself back to sleep after waking. Example: fed her at 12:00 up at 2 am. She isnt hungry, tried letting her self soothe, went on whining, not crying, for 1 1/2 hours. My husband checked on her and she wasnt wet, cold, etc. Any ideas on how to work on this. I will feed her if I know she is hungry but now we are getting no sleep again and Im so tired. But I am also so in love with her and try to keep focused on her good qualities. smile....thanks
