7 Month Old Wakes Wailing

Posted by Rob on May 06, 2002 at 10:40:41:

Our 7 month old daughter wakes up wailing in the middle of the night ... we stopped any baby foods and went back to only formula ... she slept through the night ... re-introduced rice cereal ... slept through the night ... tried carrots and the first night was not so good and the second was horrible ... she wakes screaming, pushing her bottom in the air, bunching up, rolling around, etc ... if we give her the pacifier it may or may not work ... if it does she will wake the same way in an hour or less ... stopped carrots and she slept through the night ... tried peas and it took the same course as the carrots ... pediatric gastro-entronologist prescribed Zantac for the possibility it is acid reflux but said he didn't think that was the problem since she is fine during the day ... both this doctor and our regular ped mention behavioral reasons ... but with the pattern above the behavioral explanation doesn't seem to make sense ... anybody have similar problems?
