infant apnea

Posted by nicks mom on May 16, 2002 at 17:47:36:

I am so worried my 2.5 month old son has apnea. What are the statistics? He was full term and weighed 10 lb 10 oz. He is neurologically healthy the pulmonologist said. He was referred to her because his respirations were only 20 a minute. She said that was ok. Noticed periodic breathing in what I think is deep sleep. He seems to nod off and go right into deep sleep is tha possible. Also I read it is not normal to have periodic breathing in deep sleep.
I am worrying myself into oblivion. Nobody but me seems to care. I also have scarey thoughts he will die very scary. When I worry about a medical condition it never seems to be what I think it is help me.
