I can't take any more 30 min. naps

Hello,
I need help or support! I have a 4 month old DD that takes 5-6 30 minute naps per day!
I will post her routine and hopefully someone has some insight.

Wake up at 6:30 a.m. and eat

First nap at 7:45 a.m. (30 minutes) She is ready for this nap after being awake 45minutes - 1 hour, but I hold her off. Even when I do put her down after 45 minutes the nap is still 30 minutes. I also make her stay in the crib for 1 hour for all 5-6 naps. She never goes back to sleep. She then takes a 30 minute nap every 1.5 hours after that (once again she is ready for another nap after 1 hour, but I try to stretch them out). She goes to sleep awake and usually for the first part of the day she doesn't even fuss, but as the day goes on and she gets more tired she cries before each nap.

I know she is able to sleep longer because I was able to hold her for a nap a couple of days ago and she slept for 2 hours and when she woke up she was like a different baby! The 5-6 30 minute naps are not allowing her to be the happy baby she is. She uses a pacifier, but I don't have to replace it during naps or during the night.

She eats every 4 hours (she set this schedule).

Around 5:00 p.m. is so tired from the accumulation of 30 minute naps that she gets hysterical and is unable to eat (which means her last feed is at 2:30 or so) until she finally passes out (literally) at 6:30 p.m. And the next day we start all over. Her life and our families life is ruled by these short naps! PLEASE PLEASE someone tell me it gets better or how to help her get the day sleep she needs.
