Posted by pure exhaustion on August 31, 2006 at 02:10:55:My 5 month old son has never slept through the night. When he was younger he seemed to get woken up at night by gas. However, most recently he has just been crying and doesn't seem to know how to comfort himself at all. He awakens 3-4 times per night. We have tried everything, including the Ferber aproach (letting baby cry for longer and longer periods of time until the baby theoretically learns to comfort himself back to sleep) which is our most recent trial. This is our fourth night of trying it and we don't seem to be making any progress at all. His ear piercing screaming continues... has anyone else tried this approach before and how long did it take to work?
