There should be no symptoms of sleep apnea in an infant. If he has a few it is much more important to diagnose and treat the sleep apnea. The gas may or may not go away after treatment. This is an important time for brain development and effortless breathing during sleep is a must.

If you can make a video of your son sleeping and show a pediatric sleep specialist the diagnosis may be made without a sleep study. There are treatment options.
