Most pediatricians do not receive education in sleep disorders in med school. You may need to make a video of her sleeping to show your pediatrician or a infant sleep specialist.

What you will look for in the video are movements during sleep, sounds made during sleep, and you should try to make so you can see her stomach during sleep.

Infant sleep should be quiet, very little if any movement, and breathing should be effortless (stomach video and sound helps here).

If everything seems normal except excessive awakenings then you will need to look at other problems like gastro, colic, circadian cycle, plms, etc.

Infants can have the same sleep problems as adults.
