7 month Old Son Won't Sleep

I have a 7 month old son who has a lot of trouble sleeping. He used to sleep through the night at 2-3 months old...now he is waking up like a newborn, two or three times in the middle of the night...When he wakes up he really isn't awake but he talks in his sleep and will not fall back into deep sleep unless you hold him and put him back to sleep...and then if you try to lay him in his crib he wakes up almost immediatley...other times he wakes up screaming like he had a nightmare or something...he usually gets tired around 9-930pm we feed him food and formula put him to sleep then lay him in his crib...by 2-3 in the morning he is awake and won't go back to sleep in his crib we have to bring him to bed with us...I was just wondering if there were others out there with this problem and what advice or suggestions do you have to try and fix this...
