I am having the same problem with my 7 month old son...and am not sure what to do either...I have tried the same thing you have lay him down and let him cry himself to sleep, but he won't go to sleep he will cry and cry until I come and put him to sleep...and he only takes about 15-20 min naps during the day...I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions but at least your not the only one out there with this problem
