Posted by jillg on May 10, 2007 at 16:10:02:I have a 4.5 month old who sleeps very inconsistently at night- she has no problem getting to sleep each night at about 7:30, and I feed her at 10PM (without really waking her up). Sometimes she wakes at 2AM (when I will feed her a small bottle), sometimes she wakes at only 4:30 (when I feed her a full bottle) and then she will go back to sleep for a couple of hours, sometimes she wakes at 6:30, ready for the day. At times she wakes up talking to herself, and other times she is crying. I am attempting to eliminate any overnight feedings by reducing her bottle size each night, but I can't figure out if her routine is the same each time I put her to bed why her response to that routine varies so much each night. Is this just something she will grow out of? I've tried moving her bedtime earlier and later and that doesn't seem to make any difference in when she wakes. Any advice/past experience would be great.
