Noises during sleep- newborn 5 week

Hi!
My son has now 5 weeks and he has really difficulties in falling asleep. The only way is by rocking in our arms and that may take 30 min. in the last couple of weeks we have been able to place him in the bassinet when he is already in deep sleep. He nurses every 1 -2 hours (we do not change his diapers so he is usually in a sleepy mode), but when he is in the bassinet he makes constant loud noises (i do not sleep...). Is this normal? I have tried to really awake him during BF, change diapers, remove his swadle, etc with no luck. When he is spleeping in our lap (over boppy pilow) he does not make such audible sounds...
any ideas?
