Posted by Larry on August 13, 1998 at 12:02:07:I am looking for anyone out there who might have some advice regarding the use of Xanax and Zoloft for insomnia. I have been taking Xanax for about a year (.25mg to .5mg before bed). It has definately helped but I still continue to wake up frequently at night. I would consider my sleep to be restless. When I wake up I am usally out of it and don't really lay awake for long periods of time. I am pretty sure that I am not getting alot of sleep because I am usually exhausted during the day, have difficulty concentrating, and yawn all the time. I used to be very active after work but now I just want to go home and lay on the couch becuase I am so fatigued. Anyway I just started taking zoloft a little over a month ago. I have not noticed any difference. I know that l need to eventually quit taking zanax and my doctor has not had alot of suggestions. Any ideas? Please do not recomend kava kava, melatonin or ambien. Tried them all. I think my problem is anxiety related therefore they have been no help.
