Consider ourself "lucky" if xanax eveb puts you to sleep. I take it frequently, and I take it with a sleeping pill at night and it still doesnt always work. One time, i had to take xanax (for anxiety), a sleeping pill for insomnia, a muscle relaxant for my aching body, and paracetamol with codeine for my headache as a result of all the other pills. I'll tell you one thing, I sleplt like a baby that night. BUT......we cant do this all the time.... I would suggest to find the underlying cause for insomina and trying to treat that, with a doctor preferably.
Many friends that I know had insomnia because their body's rhythym had changed, so they ended up sleeping more in the day an less at night, until they just coudnt sleep normaly. I think that might be my case to, but I am still searching....its been 5 months now...Good luck.
