My doctor recently prescribed me Zoloft for anxiety. I went to my family doctor with complaints of heart palpations, lightheadedness, sometimes even dizziness and always feeling nervous and anxious. After a lot of tests he said I suffer from generalized anxiety but he said that an anti-depressant/an anti-anxiety drug would work better than just an "anti-anxity drug" The only problem with this is that I am scared to start taking it because I have heard that some people actually get worse while on this and have manic episodes! Has anyone ever heard of this and how common is it? Also, I heard that most people who suffer from depression have a lack of serotonin,but on another website I just read that some people who suffer from anxiety have too much seritonin and they should not take seritonin inducing meds!!! How confusing! HELP :)
