Hi Meg,
My daughter and I did watch the Sleep Files last summer on the Discovery Channel (she was very relieved to know that others have had the same problems that she has had and that she is not alone or "wierd"). We saw the man you referred to--he died of some brain disorder which caused the insomnia as one of its effects. I don't remember what the name of it was. Discovery has a web site, maybe they would still have the info on that program or would put it up if they got mobbed with requests from all of us here :-) ?
