Mike,
One comment you made sticks out in my mind. You said we should be thankful for the luxury of having a complex subconscious which creates our sleep disorders. I tend to agree with you. Over the years, I have wondered if the insomnia has created a hightened sense of awareness for me that I might otherwise not have experienced. My frequent lament has been, "Why me?", yet without those endless sleepless nights, I don't feel that I could love as strongly, fight as fiercely, and be so committed to the things in which I believe. Maybe that's the trade-off.
