I really think it varies for each person, depending on your circumstances, personality, etc. I tapered from 50 mg down to 25 mg then 12.5mg over a period of several months. I also practiced good sleep hygiene and sleep restriction during that time. I started sleeping better in cycles, and the good cycles gradually got longer. It took about 4 months to where I was sleeping well most of the time. But as I've said before, I think the main problem with trazodone withdrawal for me was psychological addiction, not physical withdrawal symptoms, and that is why it varies so much from person to person. You just have to be patient and keep working on dealing with your anxiety about insomnia. I know it's hard, but you'll get there if you keep at it.
