Hi Kate
Thanks for your reply – I really feel for you as I know exactly what it’s like trying to struggle through each day in this state.
In answer to your question, I had to give up full time work and settle for various part time jobs for a while. I was fortunate in that we gradually built up our own business which meant I could then work from home, which took the pressure off quite a bit. Could you consider this?
The plan was that after having our son 17 months ago (I was determined IT wouldn’t stop me from having a family as well) I would carry on helping out in the business (ha-ha!). Of course I’ve been nowhere near it since (thanks to you know what) and we’ve had to take on an employee instead!
I share your frustration re disability payments etc. Insomnia should be recognised as being the serious illness it is – but I guess that if even family & friends have difficulty in appreciating what we go thru, employers/governments etc aren’t exactly going to be sympathetic either.
Sorry to hear that the Remeron (or Zispin as it’s known here) doesn’t appear to help you much. I had to admit defeat after 19 drug free nights & ended up a gibbering wreck in the doc’s office again. Nitrazepam this time! Hopefully am now back on the wagon. Lets carry on hoping that there is a cure out there somewhere. Nell
