Mark...those were a lot of changes to adjust to at once...not only a geographical change but one which involved a time zone change and a climate change...heavy stuff as far as sleep is concerned. Add to that a new job and living with a partner...yikes...who wouldn't have trouble sleeping? Maybe if you had your own place until you got used to a new city, etc. etc. Don't be too hard on yourself and if you can avoid the meds I'm sure most on this forum would advise similarly. They should only be used short term. Perhaps some relaxation tapes and the 2 books mentioned on this web site would also help. Not consuming caffeine(use decaf) or nicotine, eating balanced meals and exercise are very important. Our bodies like regularity and schedules....sometimes even sleeping with someone can be a major adjustment if you've always slept alone!!! Good Luck.....JoAnne
