Hi Heather,

You certainly have company. I've had a few sorta rough nights this week and one thing that keeps me from that lonely feeling in the middle of the night is knowing that there are other people out there awake, too. I was with you, and so were many others, from time to time last night.

I'm still trying to taper my clonazepam but the past few nights I've felt so wired when I went to bed (rather than sleepy as I have been for the past several months) and I wake much more frequently (every time the heat comes on -- we've got a new furnace and it will take a while for me to learn to ignore it in my sleep). Fortunately anxiety hasn't really returned, but vigilance and frustration ocassionally pop into the picture. While awake I remind myself how well I've been sleeping lately, that a few nights with less sleep is not a big deal, I am not alone in my awake-ness, and I get myself to enjoy just being comfortable in bed. Then I think of something totally boring -- the best thing is what I'm going to wear the next day.

You know, I've noticed a big increase in activity on this forum related to 'bad spells' etc., and it started about the same time as the change back from daylight savings time. I know this is an international forum and perhaps this bizarre thing done in the US doesn't happen everywhere. However, I wonder if that one hour shift sort of tweaked some people enough to trigger a 'bad spell'?

Take heart, Heather. You'll get through it and be stronger than ever.

A.N.
