Question for Beth

Posted by Cassidy on November 08, 2001 at 10:52:55:

Hi Beth.

Hope you are doing well. I have been trying the sleep restriction for a couple weeks and notice the same good night/bad night trend you spoke of in your posts. Also, many nights that I feel sleepy before my designated bedtime, I tend to let myself sleep on the couch. Is this a bad habit? Should I force myself to stay awake until my designated bedtime? It seems that when I do this I encounter that same "window of opportunity?" Also, it seems that when I get out of my bed to read a book if I still can't sleep, that I can't seem to get drowsy again because I'm all keyed up? Did you experience this and if so how did you cope?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
