Hi Heather - YOU ARE NOT ALONE. The feelings of lonliness with this horrific insomnia are immense. I have just discovered this forum thank goodness. My insomnia has been chronic for 8 years after the birth of twins. I always had a sleep problem but after that is has become awful. I have tried everything, many many doctors, many many meds to no avail. I was just starting to get extremely depressed over this because it seems so hopeless and the quality of life has suffered so badly. But since getting on this forum I have gotten some advice that has given me some hope. Postings by Jack, Forums 1, 2 & 3(who seems to have gotten over his insomnia after 14 years). I am trying very hard to have a positive attitude but it is so so difficult when so weak from sleep deprivation. I just made an appointment with another sleep specialist, a psycholigist (just someone to talk too). I am skeptical but just maybe the fact that I'm trying again may lessen just a little of this anxiety. I hope you feel better - I know I sound like I'm talking on and on but I am relieved to have found that other people also are trying to cope with this horrible illness and can offer sympathy and advice.
