Repetitive Dreams and Light Sleep

Posted by writewurds on January 06, 2002 at 07:08:12:

Recently, when first dosing off to sleep, I have very compartmentalized semi-dream sequences. These dreams are very repetitive, not always pleasant, and usually involve trying to get some very minor task completed correctly. The task is the same on a given night but not the same night to night. I find I repeat them over and over(waking often) till about half way through my 7 hour sleep cycle. At the mid point of my sleep cycle I begin to have normal and pleasant dreams and sleep well till my 6:30 wake-up.

I suffered numerous sleep interruptions and sleepless nights when I was drinking every night (I only drink a modest amount on rare occasions now). This is the only sleep problem I've had till now.

Can someone please direct me to the sleep topics I should research to improve the quality of my sleep? (Sorry for the long post)
