Hi Lynne, Thanks so much for your post. Yes, I'm practicing relaxation every day 20-45 mins. I always feel positive and optimistic when I see that things are on the right track and maybe there is hope of recovery. It's when I have had three extremely bad nights (worse than the usual) in a row of very little sleep that I feel as if recovery isn't possible. It's when I feel so physically weak and drained that I find it hard to be positive. That's when the thoughts of extreme pessimism take over. I guess I've had a hard time believing that positive thinking, when you are feeling awful, can help insomnia. It has helped you and you firmly believe that writing these positive affirmations help. This is something I haven't done but will certainly do it now because it's the only thing I've left out. I just want to know, were you able to do this even when you were at your worst? Lynne, what you said about having bad nights is inevitable. It's just when I stay up until 2:00, you would think I would be so exhausted that I would be able to sleep the 4 1/2 hrs. I've given myself in bed, but it's not happening. Thanks again. Ellie
