The subconscious is like a massive store house of all our experiences while we are fully conscious. Sleep is also a state of consciousness, albeit reduced, but you do respond to stimuli when asleep so you are conscious. It is natural when dreaming for the brain to recall from the store house or library, if you will. If there were unpleasant situations in life, they can be recalled. Console yourself upon awakening that it was a dream and it wasn't happening in real life again...with time these thoughts should lessen as your waking life is filled with more pleasant than unpleasant events. Dreams can feel so real but do try to shrug them off and not give them too much attention or they might recur more frequently. May your future dreams be pleasant.....Andrea
