Sleepy Aussie,

I understand your anxiety problems, because I have them too. But believe me if you go to bed at 9 p.m. then it's perfectly normal to wake at 4 a.m. - seven hours is sufficient sleep for most people. So you really shouldn't beat yourself up about it. Actually, you are very lucky compared to a lot of people here (myself included). Don't lose sight of that. Don't compare yourself to people who sleep 8 or 9 hours - it's pointless. In fact, don't compare yourself to anyone. We are all individuals with individual needs. And I fully agree with Ellie that if you want to get more consistent, regular sleep you should maybe restrict your time in bed to 6.5 hours or whatever, because then, hopefully, your body will start to sleep more deeply in the time it has at its disposal.

I'm having a few problems at the moment too (haven't slept at all for the last couple of nights), so I'm trying to be positive, although it certainly is not easy when you're so tired and you feel that people expect things of you, or expect you to be your usual smiley self at work. Sigh!
