hi, my sympathies to you. insomnia is never easy because there can be so many causes or it could be a sympton of an illness. i'm not a medical expert but she may have something wrong biologically. for example, iron deficiency in the body will cause insomnia. does she feel anxious in anyway? is she a worrier? it may perhaps be something rooted psychologically. i recommend getting fully checked out by a doctor to see if it's a manifestation of an illness.

i'm a transient insomniac myself and i can tell you that support and understanding from my husband was key in my getting better and it's obvious you show high concern for her. something like this will take alot of patience and support.

i hope relief is found for your wife soon. in the meantime my thoughts are with you.
