Stress

Posted by Rich on February 15, 2002 at 07:38:05:

We're gonna be moving across the country, starting a new job and new life in a month. Maybe not surprisingly, I'm getting a big hit of insomnia, as life gets stressful with house sales, packing, moving and stuff (plus 1-yr old baby that makes catching up on sleep difficult. My insomnia is the type where I get up at 4:30 AM after 4-6 hours, thrash around, then about 7 when it's time to get up, I wish I could stay in bed and sleep.

I'm concerned that during this bout I seem to be getting "used to it". Usually I could get out of the cycle after a few days or 2 weeks at most.

So, would you folks recommend I see my doctor for short-term pharmaceutical assistance? I'm pretty much against it, I frankly just don't have the time to go through the long-term behavioral therapy that I think would work the best. Aprreciate your thoughts!
