Dreams that I can't wake up from.....

Posted by -133- on February 20, 2002 at 22:10:02:

This has happened to me on and off for years, but since the beginning of the year, I've only had four or five nights where it hasn't happened....

.... here's what happens: Shortly after I fall asleep (I'm guessing about half an hour to an hour) I all of a sudden realise I'm dreaming.... and I'm usually sitting in the same place in my dream, wearing the same clothes. I'm sitting on a fence outside an elemetary school where my mother once taught. No one is around.... I know I'm dreaming, and I try to wake up but I can't move and I can't wake myself up. So I just have to sit there in this dream forever.... it seems like forever that I have to sit there, unable to move, trying to wake up.

I always think I've been in the dream for hours and hours, but when I finally do wake up, it's usually only been two or three hours. It takes me ages to get back to sleep again, and most times I end up back in the same place and can't wake myself up....

I hate it. I don't ever want to go to sleep because it scares me having to sit there on that fence outside the school and the town is empty and quiet and I can't move. I just want to be able to dream about something else, or not dream at all.... or be able to wake myself up easily. Most times I can't wake myself up at all....

Does anyone know what to do about this?
