Hi Joanne..Although meditation relaxes you, at the same time it gives you more energy. Twenty minutes of deep meditation is equal to a couple of hours of sleep. One may have gained some powerful recuperative energy from the meditation, enough to suspend sleep for a while. Some long term meditators sleep alot less than your average 7-8 hours.I always found that if I did group meditations after 7:00 I was very energized and could't fall asleep those nights.I can't be sure if it wasn't also the excitement from the socialization late at night.Besides that is what the T.M.rules were , optimally to meditate before sunrise and then late afternoon before dinner. If someone meditates at night and it works for them I guess it would be o.k. In this insomnia game, whatever works for you , do it!!!! Hope
