Hi.
The whole point of sleep restriction is to get you sleeping better right? So, if you are able to do that without restricting your sleep, you are one step ahead - not behind. Sleep restriction is only one way to try to overcome this thing. It isn't the only way. It works for some, not for others. Don't feel bad at all. I think it is great you are doing better without it. For me, the sleep hygeine was more important than the restriction and the restriction often stressed me out more. I take the approach now of not going to bed until I am very tired - whatever time that might be. I try not to count the hours of rest I got or didn't get. I don't look at the clock at all once I get into bed. This has helped me more than anything else. Good luck and congratulations on your success thus far.
