Panda and Michael,

Imovane is the brand name , Zoplicone is the generic name. Zoplicone is a hypnotic that is chemically similar to a benzo. When getting off a benzo, current protocol is to taper slowely off the drug.Everyones central nervous system is different so how much to cut and how often to cut is IMHO dependent upon how you react and your particular chemistry.

Popular thought is to cut 10% of your dose every 2 weeks. If your body can handle it then try cutting a little more. So if you're currently taking 7.5mg then try 6.75. Personally I have been able to make much larger cuts in my withdrawel from Dalmane. I have gone from 30mg. to 22.5mg to 15mg. to 11.5mg. to 7.5 to 5.5 and to the 3.5 where I currently reside.I have been making the cuts every 2 weeks. I go to a compounding pharmecy where they will make up any dosage my Dr. will prescribe. It's important that you find a sympathetic Dr. and do it under their supervision.

Hope this helps and don't hesitate to post if you have any other questions.

Best of luck

david
