I really like Remeron, have been taking it for about 3 months now, for insomnia and depression. I take 30 mg. However, a couple of weeks ago I thought I'd try cutting down to 15 mg per night as I'd been feeling much better. The first night I tried it, I had a TERRIBLE night! Slept very badly and felt terrible the next day. It then took me a couple of nights to recoup and I ended up taking Xanax a couple of nights so that I didn't spiral into an long bout of insomnia. Now I seem to be sleeping fine again, back on 30 mg, but this makes me nervous about how to taper off the Remeron eventually. I really don't want to have to go through that kind of rebound insomnia. I started taking Remeron to get off Xanax in the first place!
