Trying to go off Ativan (same as Ambien)f

Can someone help me to get off Ativan. I try to sleep without Ativan and go to bed at 11 and wake up at 1:13am and then don't know what to do. I panic and then take an ativan (1mg) and the cycle repeats. I am alone and the nights are so long. When you wake up at 1:30 what do you do?
