Matt-

I stayed at six hours for the first month and a half. It was tough and I just recently added a half an hour to make my sleep time 6.5 hours. I was able to function fine off of the six hours and this last week has been good, so I decided to crank it up a notch and see how it goes.

Yes, I would have many nights that would go by with little or no sleep, certainly no deep sleep. In fact, I had four years of those nights. I am now having nights where I go to bed, don't remember falling asleep, and wake up in the morning just before my alarm clock! What a change in a period of two months! Now, not every night is like that, but I am having them with more frequency now...usually if I haven't been cheating the program and sleeping in if I had a bad night. "Bad," however, is a relative term. My worst nights now are far, far better than my best nights were when my insomnia was in full swing.

It's been hard sticking with it, but now the program has become more habitual and I don't struggle like I used to to get out of bed in the morning. Some mornings are bigger battles than others, but at least now I am able to pull myself out of bed close to the times I'm supposed to. This is a minor miracle for an ex-night owl like me!

Paul
