Yes, Sam, looking back the word provider could seem ominous. The term provider represents those medical professionals in charge of your care. Usually it refers to a physician and you might see PCP (primary care provider) but it could be a PA, a clinical nurse specialist, a chiropracter (sp?), etc. Every field has its own semantics. The terms I have problems with are mostly in computers and communications technologies. Didn't mean to throw a curve, sorry.
