Hi Bob..So sorry to hear of your plight. Pharmaceuticals "the cure" are sometimes worse than the problem.I have been doing alot of reading on heavy metals. All medicines are processed using metals, most of them mercury. It's odd that the symptoms you have, anxiety, insomnia, and panic are all mercury induced symptoms. I try to stay away from all drugs, although while I was fighting insomnia over the last seven years I submitted, against my better judgement to taking some, and then some. I have used all three drugs you mentioned. I felt that the benzodiazapene sleep was clearly the more relaxed, refreshing sleep. Ambien made me feel very sick after a few days. Since your goal is to get restorative sleep so that you can heal, I would stick with the one that seems to give you the least side effects, and the most deep sleep. The general consensus on this forum, and I have been hooked into it for many years is that that the benzos produce deeper and longer sleep than Ambien .{ although Ambien is consered a hypnotic somewhat like a benzo]. You could try taking the Ativan or xanax one night and then possibly a benadryl the next. Or just take the benzodiazapenes for a short term and don't worry about the addiction for now. I took xanax for two years, and withdrew from it slowly without too many problems. Your main concern is to get your health back. I am not prescribing drugs, but Remeron is something that many people seem to have luck with as far as deeper and longer sleep. You may want to question your doctor about it.In the mean time eat nutritious food, plenty of leafy greens, and extracted fruit and vegetable juices to clean your liver. Drink at least 8 glasses of pure water a day, and take vitamins and minerals especially C,E, CoQ10 and Seleniun which clears your body of toxic metals and other impurities. I do hope you feel better. I have heard other horror stories about Cipro. Take care . I do hope you feel better very soon. Hope
