Posted by Carole on June 25, 2002 at 04:04:14:I've been taking Remeron for several months now - for both depression and insomnia. It 's been a godsend! I took 30 mg for a while, and then cut back to 15 mg. I still sleep fairly well on 15 mg but do feel a bit groggy in the morning. If I take it earlier in the evening this helps, BUT then I'm I get sleepy too early in the evening!
Anyway, I've decided it's time to start weaning myself off it. But the first night that I tried taking only 7.5 mg I had a really bad night! Of course I panicked and went back to 15 mg the next night. Any recommendations about this from anyone who's been through it? Do I just have to suffer some rebound insomnia for a while?? I really don't want to do that. I've got used to being able to sleep pretty much through the night, and it makes so much difference to how I feel and function! But that's with the Remeron, of course. Any input gladly received! Thanks.
