I think the problem we have here is we do not know all of someones medical conditions. Yes there are doctors out there who over prescribe, etc., however, they do know other medications and medical conditions their patiens have. There are many medications that should be avoided with certain conditions. What I hear you saying is, don't worry about a thing, just stop taking what you are taking and try this, or just stop taking what you are taking, you don't need it.

You don't know what other underlying conditions that may be related to them taking a medication and do you want to be responsible for someone who stops taking their medication for depression because you say it doesn't help with insomnia, then they commit suiside because of depression.

This is an extreme case but I think most of the posting here go way over the line, telling people what they need to take or not take.
