Posted by At the end of the line on June 26, 2002 at 05:50:30:Two years ago I stupidly started taking a high dose (2mg) of Clonazepam to try and combat my chronic insomnia and even though I was careful not to take it every night (having been addicted to sleeping tablets in the past) I’m now definitely hooked. I’m now stuck in this perpetual cycle of fighting to stay off of it – the most I can manage is a week and then being forced to take it owing to no sleep at all and it seems to be getting worse! This past week I’ve hardly had any sleep and today am seeing things, hearing things and am very suicidal (if it weren’t for my husband and child I would definitely end it as it feels like there is no hope). Has anyone got any advice as to how to stay off this stuff AND sleep. I’ve tried to do all the right things, sleep restriction, tapering etc but just can’t seem to get any natural sleep and I feel like I’m living in limbo waiting for the time when I get my life back – please help!
