A-B Doubt if we had the same kind of heart surgery. I had a multiple bypass (5) as a result of restrictions in my arteries. I'm told that sometimes depression and/or insomnia are aftereffects of the surgery caused solely by the trauma of the surgery. Presently I have no problem whatsoever resulting from the surgery. One of my problems was my heart surgery followed closely behind a knee replacement, both of which resulted in my using Ambien nightly for about 2 mos. When I tried to sleep without Ambien it hit the fan. Night after night of no sleep resulting in severe depression. The combo of Sonata and Remeron helped me get back to relative normalcy.
